Tuxedos, flowers, sparklers, family and love is in the air: which could only mean that wedding season is here! As social media sites continue to grow and transform (such as Pinterest and Etsy), more and more weddings have taken on a life of their own by incorporating family values and entertainment characteristics. Entrance tables, party favors, place cards, invitations, and even guestbooks are beginning to showcase the personality of brides and grooms everywhere.
Although coordinating decorations and color schemes can seem tedious, the food and beverage portion (one of the best parts of a wedding) are equally as important and time consuming. Appetizers, main courses, wedding cakes, dessert tables, and personalized “His” and “Her” drinks have become critical to creating the perfect day. The ingredients, flavor, and presentation of each food dish are specific to each bride and groom based on location and overall theme of the festivities.
One of our favorite displays at an outdoor wedding is the meat, cheese, crackers, and spread table highlighted by wine barrels, wooden crates and burlap for a rustic decor. Pesto spreads are a perfect appetizer during cocktail hour, especially the pesto feta dip. To make this dish all you need to do is mash together 6 ounces of crumbled Feta, 1 cup of Greek yogurt and 1/2 cup of rosso pesto. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper and serve with Valley Lahvosh Round crackers.
The possibilities are endless for planning the perfect wedding, so be creative and think outside the cracker-box!
